Easy Learning Genetics : Part I-Introduction to Genetics, Mendelian Principles, About Genetic material(DNA).
70Genetics deals with the transfer of biological information from cell to cell and from parents of offspring. The basis of biological information is the genes and the genes are composed of DNA.
- Mendel Museum of Genetics (Masark University)
- Mendel Web This is a site where you can get a lot of information about Gregor Mendel, his life and scientific achievements.
The basic principles of genetics were uncovered by an Austrian priest ,Gregor Johann Mendel (Father of Genetics). His experiments with garden pea(Pisum sativum) were conducted in a small garden attached to the Monastery of Augustininian fathers at Altbrunn,Austria during the period 1857-1865.The experimental results and generalizations (Popularly known as Mendelism) were published in 1866. The discovery of Mendelian principles paved way for the emergence of a new branch of biology.
William Bateson gave this developing science the name "Genetics" in 1905. Later Johannsen coined the term "Gene" for hereditary unit.

Very informative hub. I really appreciate your effort to put all these wonderful sites together.
As a teacher, I know while explaining different aspects of genetics, students got confused with different terminologies, problems etc.I think these sites will definitely improve their understanding and will create an interest in the topic.
Thanks so much for all the informative resources! Now I don't have to search the internet every time I want to answer a question in class :).
